Project challenge
The building facade requires a concise and impactful texture effect over a large area, while balancing properties such as weather resistance, stain resistance, fire protection, and impermeability. Traditional coatings and stone materials struggle to maintain uniform spray dot texture on large-area walls, and are prone to later issues like fading, cracking, or efflorescence. The owner hoped the wall itself would have a certain degree of artistic expressiveness to echo the geometric blocks and sculptural elements of the building.
Applied solution
Selected "Embossed Series" spray dot texture (KD-HD-FD-2401W, Moonlight White).
Constructed with Kunde 145# marble mineral fire-resistant and impermeable two-component Moonlight White system.
The spray dot process creates a delicate and uniform embossed texture on the large-area wall, allowing the wall to present rich light and shadow layers under natural light, and forms a unified architectural language with the glass curtain wall, steps, and sculptures.
Project results
The facade presents a uniform and delicate spray dot embossed texture, with a clean and transparent Moonlight White tone
The large-area wall has consistent texture and rich light and shadow effects, enhancing the overall expressiveness of the building
The system has fire resistance, impermeability, and weather resistance, effectively preventing cracking, efflorescence, and fading
It is highly coordinated with the building's geometric blocks and sculptural elements, becoming a visual highlight
We wanted the facade to have a bit of texture, but not too complicated. After this spray dot finish was completed, it looks very clean. There are subtle light and shadow changes during the day, and it coordinates very well with the sculptures. The overall effect is better than expected.
